HE "MELON FESTIVAL" OF OLD AND EVERGREEN KHIVA HAS STARTED

Today, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Khorezm regional administration, the "Melon Festival" of old and evergreen Khiva city has started at the "Ichan Qala" State Museum-Reserve.

During the festival, many participants are taking part in the melon tasting competition, showcasing various colorful and delicious varieties of melons. Among them are the leadership, professors, teachers, and young students of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute.

The purpose of the event is to demonstrate the potential of agrotourism and to further promote the ancient cultural heritage and rare flora of Khorezm, as well as to enhance tourism capacity.

It should be noted that an award ceremony and gala concert program will be held on August 13th.

The festival gathered the following colorful events:
Demonstration of agrotourism potential;
Exhibition of agricultural products;
Folklore performances;
Concert programs;
Display of visual arts;
Exhibition of handicrafts;
Traditional game "Dorbozlar";
Dance performances;
Performances by puppet theaters;
Masterclasses on cooking national dishes;
Masterclasses on making Khorezmian bread;
Exhibition of national clothing;
Live performances on stage.
