HISTORY OF THE "PHYSICS AND ASTRONOMY" DEPARTMENT

Based on the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-289 dated June 21, 2022, "On measures to improve the quality of pedagogical education and further develop the activities of higher education institutions training pedagogical personnel," Urganch State Pedagogical Institute was established on the basis of undergraduate and graduate programs in pedagogical education of Urganch State University. The department was founded on September 2, 2025, within the Faculty of "Exact and Natural Sciences" of Urganch State Pedagogical Institute. Dr. Zebo Allayarovna Avezmuratova, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, was appointed as the Head of the Department. Currently, the department consists of 12 faculty members, including 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor (Dotsent), 2 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) in Pedagogical Sciences, 2 Lecturers, and 6 Trainee Teachers.

GOAL OF THE DEPARTMENT: To operate in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laws, Presidential Decrees and Resolutions, Cabinet of Ministers' decisions, and Ministerial orders. The department aims to train highly qualified, creatively thinking, and competent specialists who meet international standards and high spiritual-moral requirements, ensuring they are fully prepared for the demands of the modern labor market.

TASKS OF THE DEPARTMENT: The department focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to organize physics and astronomy education in general secondary schools, academic lyceums, and vocational schools. This includes conducting laboratory and practical sessions using modern methodologies, as well as the systematic organization and management of the educational process. In the 21st century—the era of information and high technology—one of the primary tasks of the faculty is to integrate modern information and innovative pedagogical technologies, virtual laboratories, and digital educational resources into the curriculum.

The department trains specialists in the following educational directions and specialties:
